Chauffeurs registration records, 1905-1917.

The "record of registration of chauffeur" was required under Section 12, Chapter 5437 of the Laws of 1905. The applicant was required to file with the Secretary of State a statement including the applicant's name and address, and the trade name and motor power of the vehicle to be operated. The Secretary of State then entered the information into the registration book and assigned the chauffeur a registration number.
